When you create an account with Cofactor, we generate a new Cofactor ID that represents you as a person. You automatically become the manager of that ID and the only person who can edit the information associated with it in the Cofactor Knowledge Base (such as record your name pronunciation in Ora or add social media profile links on Nym).
Managed Cofactor IDs are marked with the black lock icon. The lock appears next to their names.
If you see the green badge next to the lock icon, this means that the manager of the ID has been verified as someone who this ID represents.
The Cofactor ID registry is constantly updated using our algorithms to include new IDs for well-known topics mentioned on the web such as notable people, place names, businesses and so on, e.g. Taylor Swift, Houston Street, Google. The new Cofactor IDs that we create this way are not managed at the time of creation.
Unmanaged Cofactor IDs are marked with the gray open lock icon. Anyone can change the information associated with unmanaged IDs in the Cofactor Knowledge Base such as record their name pronunciation in Ora or add social media profile links on Nym.
You can claim any unmanaged ID to become the only person who can make changes to the information associated with that ID in the Cofactor Knowledge Base.
